Air India acknowledged the contribution of women achievers in civil aviation at a conference held in Mumbai recently.
The two day conference on 'Women in Civil Aviation -100 years and beyond' was organised by the IWPA in association with the Aeronautical Society of India to commemorate the centenary celebrations of civil aviation in India. |

The
national carrier felicitated three veteran women pilots namely Chanda
Sawant Budhabhatti, Rabia Futehally and Mohini Shroff, the founder
members of the Indian Women Pilots’ Association (IWPA), with a Lifetime
Achievement Award at this seminar, which was attended by aviation
experts from across the world.
The awards were handed over by Chitra Sarkar, Executive Director-North America, Europe, on behalf of Air India. They were also offered a complimentary ticket each, by the airline on its international network. Air India also occupied pride of place in the exhibition that was inaugurated at the Aero Space Hall in Nehru Science Centre Mumbai on 17 December, said a press release. On display were photographs of women achievers over the years, many of whom had started their career with the airline. |
