Rajni in Mantralayam

It was time for fun and festivities for actor Rajnikanth's fans as they  organised special poojas, prayers across various temples in Tamilnadu on the occasion of the actor's 62nd birthday today even as he chose to head to Sri Raghavendra Swamy Temple at Mantralayam.
It was a special birthday for the 'Super Star' (as he is referred to by his fans) for he was born again this year. He had suffered severe kidney ailments and was nursed back to good health after intense medical attention in Chennai and Singapore.

This year ends on an optimistic note for his fans as the actor has announced two back-to-back venture - Kochadayan and Rana.
The actor who generally prefers private celebrations left for Mantralayam last night where he offered special prayers to Lord Raghavendra Swamy. Poojas were performed and prasadams were offerred to him on the occasion. Later he left for Udupi Dharmasthala to seek the blessings of the Almighty.
In Chennai, at Thiruverkadu Amman temple, members of his fans association performed 'Go Pooja', also special prayers were offerred at various temples including TTD Devasthanam at T Nagar, Velankanni Church at Besant Nagar and Anna Salai dargah in Chennai. Also, at various orphanages and destitute homes, fans lined up to offer mass feedings.
A grand function would be held at Valluvarkottam here tomorrow in which director S  P Muthuraman, actors Vijayakumar, Raghava Lawrence, Chinni Jayanth besides producers Kalipuli S Dhanu and T G Thyagarajan would take part.
The social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook were abuzz with people extending his heartfelt greetings to Rajnikanth.
